To all bands playing the Shuffle this weekend. Please note that all Shuffle stages have full backline, all that you are required to bring is drum breakables, instruments and any non-standard equipment. Bring guitar amps if you must but space is limited in some venues and we want to avoid a mountain of equipment getting in the way. Specific stage times for each band will be posted shortly in this site.

We're starting a day early with a Swindon Shuffle launch party at The Queens Tap (opposite Swindon train station) this Thursday (9 August) with an open mic session featuring David Abbott, Secret Lives, Coach, Marky Thatcher, Faye Rogers + Matt Chipperfield). Following that will be a karaoke so, come along and support the opening night!
The folks at Rise Records (in the Brunel Centre) are also going to be hosting more acoustic sessions over the weekend. Stay tuned for more details.
The Swindon Shuffle compilation CD is coming along nicely too. It features 44 tracks and will be available at the venues though, make sure you get one quickly as they're bound to sell out quickly! Sign up to the Misadventures In Media Facebook page to see pics of how work is progressing on it.../p>

The biggest celebration of unsigned local bands in the area is BACK!
Now in its 6th year, The Swindon Shuffle returns in August 2012 for another 3 days and nights of the best unsigned talent, showcasing an array of musical genres and fantastic entertainment at the best music venues in the area.
The Shuffle has come to be thought of as a kind of annual work's party for the Swindon music scene, where promoters, venue staff, bloggers and journalists can get together and see what the scene has to offer and check out the best of the local talent, but most importantly it's a vital outlet for our best unsigned bands and musicians to be heard by live music fans and have their chance to shine!
The event takes place Friday 10th August - Sunday 12th August and this year, the official Shuffle venues are:
- The Beehive (7pm 'til 11pm Friday + Saturday)
- The Rolleston (MidDay 'til 7pm Saturday + Sunday)
- The Furnace (6pm 'til 11pm Saturday + Sunday)
- The 12 Bar (7pm 'til 11pm Friday + Saturday : 8pm 'til 11pm Sunday)
- Piri Piri (8pm 'til 11pm Friday)
- Riffs Bar (7pm 'til 11pm Friday)
Some of these venues have been with us from the start, and we're delighted to have them back on board, along with The Rolleston and The Furnace - back after a break, and introducing the scrumptious Tapas bar Piri Piri who join us for the first time this year, showcasing the more laid back and chilled out unplugged and acoustic sessions - so there really is something for everyone this year!
There will be over 50 bands and artists playing across the venues over the weekend. We're still putting the finishing touches to the lineup so, keep checking in to the website and 'like' our Facebook page for up-to-date info of who's playing and where.
Stage Managers, Stewards, Helpers that sort of thing. Whilst the booking of the acts is now all falling into place, we are looking for people who can help look after the various stages on the day. It's really as simple as being the link between bands and sound engineers, ensuring bands know what time they are on, where to put their gear and general low-level trouble shooting. If anyone would like to be involved at this sort of level please contact us.
